The winner of Miss Malawi 2009 will parade along with beauty queens from the rest of the world in the Miss World competition, Excite Events and Media who are arranging Miss Malawi 2008 have disclosed.

Speaking to Nyasa Times in Lilongwe, Excite Events and Media public relations Representative Angella Chimariro said that the happening has this year been organized on international standards as there are plans to send the queen to the World beauty show. She said that out of the 50 girls that were try-out for the show, 15 have completed it to the finals that are to be held in Lilongwe on December 14.She said "We firmly observed that all the girls that made it to the finishing round reached the global required height of 170 cm and were of good shape and looks of a Malawian model".

She revealed that the answer from both sponsors have been positive adding that the winner of the happening will leave with a K200,000 cash price in addition a laptop and the possibility to contest at the Miss World. She revealed that for the first time in the times past of Miss Malawi the viewers is going to be given a chance to take part in the judging development.

She said "We are conscious that formerly there were disagreements of who truly had won the crown, and for this reason this year 30 percent of the votes shall come from the viewers". In the meantime, organizers have disclosed that Capital Hotel are offering discount to inhabitants who will lodge at the hotel and look at the Miss Malawi contest. Present Miss Malawi Peth Msiska who has been holding the title for three years said in a phone discussion she was pleased the show is lastly on.
