The skin which is present on the scalp gets old, the old skin cells die and new cells are formed this happens approximately once in a month. In majority of people, these flakes of dead skin cells are very small and cannot be seen. In a dandruff scalp, the skin cells are sloughed off for every five to seven days in hefty, greasy oily clumps or dry white flakes before they are dead.
Dandruff is caused of stress, lack of sleep, a suppressed immune system, heredity or a bad diet. Dandruff may be caused by wearing tight hats, taking head bath in cold water, not rinsing properly after you shampoo, using of excess hair products and hair dryers.
You can use some of these methods that reduce dandruff-
Warm coconut oil and then, by parting your hair in rows apply this warm coconut oil. After applying leave it for 5 minutes and then massage with finger tips for 10 minutes. Give a good steam by placing a hot water towel then shampoo. Use a rich conditioning cream rinse to finish off.
Add two drops of Rosemary oil, to the regular oil that you use. Massage this with finger tips for 10 minutes into your scalp and leave overnight.
Ayurvedic anti-dandruff hair shampoos are also good or use a medicated anti-dandruff shampoo.
Things that you should know-
