Growing
a healthy head of hair is both possible and attainable. Most people
don't take into consideration that nutrition and stress play a huge
roll in the bodies total health, let alone that these factors drastically
affect the development of the very sensitive hair follicles all
over our bodies.
Yet
consistently studies have shown that an appropriate diet and reduced
stress can help the body regenerate itself, hair included.
Certain
supplements can be taken by people to help maintain a healthy head
of hair but also to help stimulate growth of hair that may have
gone missing over the years.
B-vitamins
have been found to be beneficial in the development of hair as well
as maintaining positive mood in the body. B-vitamins work in conjunction
with other vitamins and can certainly be overdone so as to become
harmful so be wary of just popping a bunch and expecting dramatic
results.
Specifically,
vitamin B-5, otherwise known as pantothenic acid, fights the graying
of hair. Similarly the nutrients inositol and PABA have been found
to induce healthier heads of hair as well as improving overall body
moods.
For
these reasons the nutrients are often found in many over the counter
hair supplements.
Essential
amino acids such as the free form L-Arginine, assist the body in
better circulation which ultimately promotes better hair growth.
This
amino acid has also been found to help elevate the bodies' human
growth hormone. People that have taken L-Arginine as a supplement
have even reported that graying hair had returned to its natural
color. Beware of hormone imbalances in the body however, never take
more than the recommended dosage of the amino acid.
Some
Chinese herbs such as He Sho Wu have also been found to be very
beneficial in the bodies' development of a healthy head of hair.
Contact a local acupuncturist if you feel this is an avenue that
