Humectant: A substance that attracts moisture and also an ingredient that helps moisturize the skin.
Hyaluronic Acid: An acid that arises naturally in the skin helps maintain the skin's natural moisture. This ingredient is an effective humectant that absorbs moisture from the air to help hydrate the skin.
Hydrate: To add moisture to the skin.
Hydroquinone: A bleaching agent used in skin preparations and also an ingredient used in "skin-lightening" products.
Hyperpigmentation: Darkening of the skin, normally formed by ultraviolet radiation, which provokes melanocytes in the skin.
Hypoallergenic: Any product geared to have least to no reaction on skin.
Hypodermis: Below the surface of the skin or it is the layer of fat beneath the dermis of the skin.
